Are you about to start or currently undergoing cancer treatment?
A cancer diagnosis is confronting and overwhelming. The treatment path for cancer varies greatly depending on the type and stage of your cancer, but often involves surgery, chemotherapy, radiatian therapy or medication including hormone inhibitors. The side effects of these treatments are often unpleasant and can make an already difficult time even harder on cancer patients.
Exciting new cancer research has delivered evidence suggesting that exercise during and after oncology treatment results in reduced cancer recurrence and improved survival for several types of cancer. It also has a significant effect on minimising the adverse side effects of oncology treatments, allowing patients to cope better overall.
Our specific exercise oncology program is tailored to meet your individual needs and find the best fit for your type of cancer and the treatment you are undergoing. Our CanConquer exercise clinic is situated in Corrimal, which is close to Wollongong Hospital to enable us to work closely with your oncology team and treatment schedule. With the Canonquer clinic only being 10 minutes drive from Wollongong Hospital, we also have a few amazing volunteer drivers who assist some of our patients to access our cancer exrecise program immediately before and after their oncology treatment. We are also able to offer a remote service for regional patients.
